Jab Naam Mila 'Hanuman'

In this hanuman Jayanti special episode, we explore the fascinating childhood story of Hanuman and how he came to be known by this powerful name. As a playful and fearless child, Hanuman once mistook the rising sun for a ripe fruit and leapt into the sky to grab it. Alarmed by this, the god Indra struck him with his thunderbolt, hitting his jaw.

The word “Hanu” means chin/jaw, and “man” refers to someone distinguished—giving rise to the name Hanuman, meaning “the one with a prominent or injured jaw.”
